The corrosion Inhibition for mild steel exposed to 0.5 M H2SO4 has been studied using electrochemical noise analysis (ENA) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Four different herbal compounds Anise ( Pimpinella Anisum) Caraway (CARUM Carvi) Cumin (Cuminum Cyminum) and Hibiscus (Hibiscus Sabdarriffa) have been tested as green corrosion inhibitor for mild steel exposed to 0.5 M H2SO4. The comparative analysis of the results obtained showed that ENA is an effective tool for screening of new corrosion inhibitors. Analysis of noise data demonstrated the need of removal of the drifts in the potential and current fluctuations during the measurement periods. The results gathered show that the inhibition efficiency reached a maximum for an inhibitor concentration of 1 ppm for the first 48 hours of exposures. Generally ENA showed a good correlation with EIS in this study.
