Slow-Strain-Rate (SSR) tests are usually limited to comparative evaluations of Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) based on relative changes in ductility parameters such as elongation and reduction in area. Recently Crack Growth Rate (CGR) and Threshold Stress Intentisity Factor (KISCC) analyses of data from SSR tests have been used for SCC evaluation. Benefits of this approach are that the results can be used to develop a detailed engineering analysis.
