The aim of this work is to analyze the role of corrosion management in prevention of corrosion accidents related primarily to safety of personnel and the environment. This is achieved by anti-corrosion measures, corrosion monitoring, regular inspection, study of each accident, implementation of meetings, publications, education, and knowledge transfer.
The aim of this work is to analyse the role of corrosion management in prevention of corrosion accidents. Humans are responsible in 65-90% of corrosion cases occurring in different industries. Many corrosion failures are caused by reasons unrelated to corrosion engineering but mismanagement and wrong policy in corrosion mitigation and corrosion monitoring.Corrosion management includes planning actions for corrosion mitigation and prevention corrosion monitoring regular inspection and control putting into practice study of each accident with failure analysis fixation and writing down reports implementation of meetings and publications of minutes their distribution collaboration and performance requirements (standards codes and specifications) for corrosion protection and monitoring documentation communication education dissemination and knowledge transfer. The reasons of inevitability of corrosion failures and ways for their decreasing are analyzed. The human factor is a key issue in corrosion management and reducing corrosion accidents. The reasons of humans` mistakes are the lack of awareness education and knowledge insufficient control and supervision lack of motives and incentives to improve the corrosion situation wrong operation and incorrect design. It is suggested to establish legislation about corrosion management on the state and federal levels improve education and knowledge transfer. Penalties can force management to put more attention onto corrosion problems and make it priority issue because corrosion accidents are related to safety of personnel and the environment.
Key words: downloadable, corrosion management, corrosion failures, prevention.
The corrosion management (CM) process could mitigate asset corrosion issues, post-commissioning. Prerequisites are necessary. • Human resources competency •Teamwork and managerial support. This paper looks into how the aforementioned parameters could influence CM implementation and how the whole process could be further improved.

This paper illustrates fifty (50) Key Perfomance Indicators (KPIs) that were developed based on industry surveys and failure analysis; application of these 50 KPIs using 10 case studies and explains cost effectiveness of various KPIs.
Risk management and a systematic approach of risk based inspection (RBI) based on API 580. The process, benefits, possible pitfalls and opportunity for improvements are clearly detailed based on practical application of RBI and corrosion management of oil and gas facilities.
