Thermal Insulating Coatings or TICs, as well as materials described as "Cool Roof Coatings" or CRCs, both use ceramic-based fillers. Sometimes used interchangeably, the materials have significantly different properties and uses. This paper with compare and contrast Cool Roof Coatings (CRCs) with Thermal Insulation Coatings (TICs) through an example to clarify differences and provide the reader with a basis for comparison.
