High voltage transmission towers have shown susceptibility to below grade and at grade corrosion due to varying soil and environmental conditions. This paper will present the risk ranking approach for tower assessments by using the Tower Corrosion Analysis Tool. This analysis is based on integrated corrosion science, field electrochemical and assessment technologies with field deployable computing hardware in a tool that can provide real-time risk ranking. This approach allows field technicians and engineers to enter, store and analyze electrochemical and physical measurements with a risk model to rank the tower footings severity of degradation. This risk analysis tool can be utilized to prioritize the examination and/or repair of individual towers or circuits.

Key words: High Voltage Alternating Current, HVAC, Electrical Towers, Corrosion, Direct Examination, Risk Assessment.
