Several of these applications deal with highly corrosive environments and replacement of metallic piping and other alloys. This paper will discuss a significant project where various materials, both composite and metallic were thoroughly evaluated. The end result was selection in favor of a Dual Laminate pipiing system. Proper engineering steps for purchase and replacement were executed. These steps include corrosion studies, cost analysis and life cycle evaluation. Also, the inherent advantages of composites played an important part of the overall project appraisal. This paper will discuss how life cycle cost analysis and proper implementation of dual laminate systems can lead to long term savings over metals for the end users.
