Ti 5111 continues the excellent reputation of titanium in seawater environments. This paper reports the crevice corrosion test results of assemblies of Ti 5111 and of Ti 5111 galvanically coupled to Alloy 625 immersed in natural seawater for one year. The resistance to environmentally assisted cracking in seawater with applied cathodic potentials and sustained load cracking in air was also determined. Ti 5111 's resistance to stress corrosion cracking and crevice corrosion in seawater environments in addition to its galvanic compatibility with Alloy 625, render it an ideal material for high strength marine fastener applications. In addition, corrosion tests were performed in flowing aerated seawater, at elevated temperature, with and without CO2 and CO2/H2S additions to evaluate the suitability ofTi 5111 as a candidate tubular material for water injection string applications. Keywords: titanium, Ti 5111, UNS R55111, Alloy 625, seawater, produced water, corrosion resistance, crevice corrosion, environmentally assisted cracking, sustained load cracking, stress corrosion cracking (SCC), offshore industry
