On September 24, 2015, The United State Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed changes to the RCRA hazardous waste generator regulations. Named the Hazardous Waste Generator Improvements Rule, the proposed rule “will suggest changes to the RCRA hazardous waste regulations to improve the ”effectiveness and clarity of the generator rules.
In this paper, failure analysis methodology will be applied to the principal mechanisms by which FBE coatings fail during long term service; with specific application to case studies involving blistering. The case studies apply standard failure analysis techniques to determine the primary causes and modes of failures.

To better understand and quantify the effect of crevice geometry, several crevice configurations simulating service conditions were evaluated including flanges assembled with gaskets, bolts mounted with nuts to plates, and the standard CREVCORR-type crevice formers.
