Zinc-rich coatings have long been known to provide excellent corrosion resistance in highly corrosive environments, in general, inorganic zincs for new construction and organic zincs for maintenance. A recent trend has been toward zinc-rich coatings with reduced levels of zinc dust. An SSPC committee formed to revise SSPC Paint 29, Zinc Dust Sacrificial Primer, Performance Based, to reference performance only, removing reference to minimum zinc dust level.

Several experiences with the use of titanium heat exchangers in refining processes are summarized. These involve distillation column overhead condensers in atmospheric crude distilling units, fluid catalytic cracking units, delayed coking units, and sour water strippers. The causes of problems are discussed. Needs for additional data are highlighted.
UNS N04400 cladding on steel valves can corrode during marine service. The uniform corrosion rate of an EN coating in artificial seawater was measured by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and was found to be less than that for N04400. The main conclusion is that an EN coating could be a viable solution to repair N04400-clad valves in-situ.
The primary application for coatings made with Fluoroethylene vinyl ether (FEVE) resins has been in architectural markets. This paper will discuss the chemistry and physical characteristics of FEVE resins, including data on weatherability. A brief review of FEVE resin product types will be given. Both laboratory and offshore corrosion test results will be addressed.
An investigation was conducted to characterize the corrosion behavior of Type 316L stainless steel (UNS S31603) in a sulphamic acid (NH2HSO3) cleaning solution.
This paper will review the features and benefits of a new epoxy coating technology that allows for true epoxy-amine curing in a single-pack product. Performance versus traditional two-component epoxy products will be compared, and environmental and convenience benefits of single-pack versus two-component packaging will be discussed.
The UNS N09955 is a precipitation hardened Ni-alloy which exhibits a good combination of mechanical strength, ductility, toughness and resistance to hydrogen embrittlement
13Cr Super Martensitic Stainless Steel (SMSS) is commonly used in the Oil & Gas industry. The present work has been aimed at evaluating the influence of different heat treatment processes on the corrosion resistance of 110 ksi 13Cr SMSS.
The effect of back shielding gas types and contained oxygen level on the corrosion resistance of welds was investigated for gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) of UNS S32750 super duplex stainless steel (SDSS) pipes.
High strength UNS S31010 with 140 ksi MYS has been produced by warm work hardening and cold work hardening. The characterization of high strength alloy with respect to corrosion resistance is discussed in this paper.
In the present work, the corrosion resistance of carbon steel studs coated with Ni-Co, Cd, Zn, and Zn-Ni was tested and measured by electrochemical techniques and environmental exposure tests.
