Fourteen countries, 20 states, and 76 bases…that sounds like quite a deployment! But what if, instead, you are charged with the evaluation and maintenance of over 500 water-storage tanks and related structures on those bases. Who would you turn to for professional guidance? How would you keep all of the details of the structures’ conditions and recommendations for maintenance organized in a manner that would allow you to rate and prioritize tank maintenance requirements?

In 2003, the City of Anoka, Minnesota completed the reconditioning of its 400,000-gallon legged water storage tank. A 2-year warranty inspection followed in 2005. The project was introduced in the May 2007 issue of the Journal of Protective Coatings. Its significance was that reconditioning of interior surfaces, above the high waterline, were treated with a trial application of three coating system solutions.
A case study of a major CP system operating in Australia for 15 years and proposal of a series of changes to current practices which can be considered for implementation in the design, installation and monitoring stages of new impressed current cathodic protection systems in concrete.
Methods for the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of deep groundbeds that discharge impressed current for cathodic protection of underground or submerged metallic structures. Historical Document 1995

One of the, if not the most, vexing problems for bridge maintenance personnel is the deterioration of bridge components below leaking joints. The joints may be open or closed, construction or expansion, but all seemingly leak shortly after construction or resealing. The bridge components affected by the leaking joints may be steel or concrete, but the end result is the same, deterioration.
This Guide is intended for owners, consultants, and contractors who perform condition surveys and write maintenance coating programs. It is not intended to be a do-it-yourself guide but is representative of the processes that a coating specialist (such as a Protective Coating Specialist [PCS] certified by AMPP) would follow to develop a maintenance coating plan for specific facilities.
HISTORICAL DOCUMENT. Procedures, equipment, and materials used for air/water/abrasive, water/abrasive, and pressurized water/abrasive blasting. Inhibitors, equipment maintenance & safety guidelines also included.
Composite repair systems’ performance relies heavily on the levels of adhesion between the initial layer of the composite system and the substrate. Enhanced adhesion translates to improved performance of the composite system since better bonding (whether mechanical or chemical) enhances the load transfer from the substrate to the composite layers as well as limit the porosity that would allow liquid or gas molecules to flow through. The aim of this study was to prove quantitatively how the APS atmospheric plasma surface preparation can improve the performance of composite repair systems whether on leaking or nonleaking defects.
