Corrosion or metal rust is the event of damage or loss of quality. Weight Loss Methods with used Wheel Test determines the corrosion rate based on weight changes before and after the corrosion. Wheel Test is cheap and simple but requires a longer time and require an analytical balance that has a high accuracy the other method Tafel extrapolation and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy can be obtained in a shorter time but this method must consider the geometry of measurement the selection of a suitable test environment and best techniques. In this research the ratio of carbon steel corrosion rate is determined in the acetic acid buffer solution of pH 4-6 at a temperature of 25C 45C and 65C. The research vary the size of the working electrode and auxiliary electrode and the distance between working electrode and auxiliary electrode and the concentration of inhibitor. Results from this research is Inhibitors tested can work effectively at pH 4 and temperatures up to 45C when the size of the working electrode is greater than the auxiliary electrode and the distance between the working electrode with auxiliary electrode is1.2 cm with the diameter working electrode is 1.2 cm and 06 for auxiliary electrode.
