This paper refers to the cares that the operating companies should take in to account to better understand and control the electrical interferences produced by a Cathodic Protection System (C.P.S.); pipelines that share the right of way and which every pipe has its own C.P.S. that is subject to suffer electrical interferences that can threaten the integrity of the pipes and the environment; the electrical interferences can produce stray current corrosion. It`s for this reason that the design of the C.P.S. must consider the interferences that exist in the pipe control and / or mitigate the same ones Not to generate significant interferences to the neighbor pipe and simultaneously to fulfill the protection criteria proposed finally we attach some recommendations and conclusions obtained in the design and implementation of a C.P.S. with these characteristics.
In this paper exhaustive field study trials to monitor the pipe to soil potential over an extended time period and subsequent analysis of data has been discussed with reference to the critical Combined Cathodic and Anodic Interference phenomena observed on pipelines.

Interference Testing is a task learned through education and experience and is one of the basic skills of Cathodic Protection Personnel. This paper will discuss interference testing and present some case histories, of basic static interference situations and the mitigation methods used.
