1.1 This recommended practice has been prepared as a guide for the design of oxygen stripping columns that employ natural gas for counter-current stripping. The same flow rates of other gases can be used as long as they do not introduce unwanted amounts of undesirable gases such as oxygen, hydrogen sulfide, or carbon dioxide into the system. 1.2 The procedures outlined are those that have been tested in a number of operating plants and have been proved accurate.
