This paper examines the effect that curing temperature has on the physical characteristics and performance of standard cure polyamide epoxies as compared low temperature cure epoxies. The purpose for this paper is threefold: FIRST, to determine if the low temperature curing epoxies are viable substitutes for the standard cure epoxies. SECOND, to determine if curing temperature can adversely affect the cure of epoxy coatings, thereby compromising corrosion protection. THIRD, to determine if a product from one manufacturer is an acceptable substitute for a similar product from another manufacturer?
Many modern electronic gauges have the capability for transmitting or uploading data to a computer via a data port. This can mean transferring the data to a spreadsheet for customized analysis or to a data management software package for analysis using standard statistical methods. This paper describes the format of the data for a range of gauges used for the coating inspection process including surface profile determination, climatic condition monitoring and coating thickness measurement.

This presentation will outline the results and conclusions of a number of years of testing and experience in surface preparation for high-performance coatings. Testing has shown that there are several important variables that are not routinely monitored and controlled on most coating projects. The pertinent variables will be identified, and guidance will be provided on appropriate treatment of the variables to achieve the maximum results from the chosen coating.
Cracking of concrete repair materials is a critical factor affecting the service life of a repaired structure. Cracks in repair materials provide a pathway for moisture to carry deleterious materials into the concrete and accelerate corrosion of imbedded reinforcement. Existing cracks can also fill with water and cause further crack propagation as well as accelerated deterioration due to freezing and thawing conditions.
