In this paper a high performance broad-shear range corrosion inhibitor for sweet conditions is introduced that has excellent cold temperature stability and low emulsion tendency at cold temperatures. The laboratory tests demonstrated the product’s excellent corrosion inhibition properties under high- and low-shear conditions using multiple laboratory techniques. A pitting analysis performed by profilometry revealed the products superior capability to inhibit pitting compared to standard high-shear inhibitors. The product’s temperature stability emulsion tendency materials compatibility with different metals and elastomers is discussed in this paper also. These results show that this product is a excellent candidate for oil and gas production at cold temperature locations that are exposed to fluids flowing with high and low velocities and mixed with CO2 gas.
