AMPP QP21536-2023, QP BASE: Evaluating General Qualifications of Contractors Seeking QP Accreditation

This standard describes a method for evaluating the general qualifications of firms seeking accreditation under standards for contractor accreditation (hereafter “Qualification Program [QP] standards”).

This is not a standalone standard, as it is intended to be used in conjunction with other standards that incorporate it by reference. The purpose of this standard is to determine whether a contractor:

  1.      Has a corporate organization that clearly defines the authority and responsibilities of positions typically required for operation of a contracting firm;
  2.      Employs qualified management and utilizes qualified craft personnel and other workers;
  3.      Has established and implemented a quality management system meeting the requirements of the referencing QP standard;
  4.      Has established and implemented a written worker safety and health program meeting requirements of the referencing QP standard;
  5.      Has established and implemented environmental protection procedures meeting requirements of the referencing QP standard;
  6.       Demonstrates knowledge of industry technical standards and good practice.
