In order to meet the materials and inhibitor assessment work requirement in TGRC’S laboratory for oilfield, a stirring autoclave imported from USA was modified. The modified equipment can conduct the high-temperature and high-pressure rotating cylinder electrode corrosion test with the electrochemical measuring capability. The modification techniques for the equipment were introduced in the paper, and some assessment tests have been done both for tubing materials and inhibitors in order to verify the effectiveness of the modified facility. Furthermore, the test results were compared with the predicted results from the testing parameters by means of a special corrosion prediction software.
