The conducting rolls in electrogalvanizing plants suffer corrosion and corrosion-erosion. Electrochemical tests have shown that the corrosion rate in acidic sulfate solutions at 60°C increases according to R31233< N06200 < N06022 < N06030 < Alloy 1< S31703 Alloy R31233 appears to be the best candidate material for the rolls in acidic sulfate baths due to its low corrosion rate, its high repassivation kinetics and its excellent resistance to wear. Alloys N06200 and N06022 are the second best group of materials for the application.
