Chemical Resistant Masonry exhibits excellent resistance to a broad range of corrosive chemical environments, such as dilute or concentrated acids, solvents, or alkalies. Chemical Resistant Masonry clan withstand high temperatures that are beyond the Iimits of most common materials. No other materials provides the superior chemical resistance and high thermal stability provided by chemical resistant masonry. Chemical Resistant Masonty itself is not a complete liquid barrier and is part of a three component system which includes brick, mortar, and membrane Many different plastic membranes are used benedth brickwork to protect a substrate from corrosive service conditions. In severe environments, such as strong acids, solvents, or alkalies at elevated temperatures, a Fluoropolymer plastic membrane coating or lining system protected with chemical resistant brick and mortar may be the only practical solution to thtjse aggressive conditions. Even costly alloys can not always withstand such exposures. Some typical chemidal resistant masomy applications where plastic membrane would be used include reactor vessels, process tanks, scrubbers, columns, incineration equipment, and quench vessels.
