In many years transport of dry liquefied CO2 has been carried out using pipelines made from low alloy carbon steel without any corrosion problems. Drying CO2 increases the handling cost and necessitate installation of additional equipment. The latter is especially important for offshore installations where space and weight of equipment are issues of concern. In the present work the corrosion rate on low alloy carbon steel exposed to water at very high CO2 pressures have been investigated. The effect of pH regulation and a film forming corrosion inhibitor have been tested as well. Keywords: Liquid CO2, carbon steel, pH regulation, inhibitor
