Two types of new 13Cr OCTG with high strength and good toughness have been developed by controlling of microstructure. One is Nb containing 13Cr steel pipe and the other is warm reduced 13Cr steel pipe. The toughness of 13Cr steels was improved by addition of Nb. The 13Cr steel containing 0.02-0.04% of Nb with 110ksi grade of yield strength showed as good toughness as the conventional 13Cr steel with 95ksi grade of yield strength. The CO2 corrosion resistance for high strength material was same as conventional 13Cr steel pipe. The SSC resistance for new 13Cr steel was same as conventional QT type
13Cr steel pipe. Nb precipitation prevents the grain growth and improves the low temperature toughness. The warm reducing process also improves the low temperature toughness. Fine sub grain for warm reduced pipe improves the low temperature toughness, same as the Nb containing 13Cr steel.
