Cold-applied tape systems have been one of the most difficult coming systems to remove. High-pressure water jetting systems developed during the early 1990s could remove the tape but only at very low production rates and with inconsistent quality. Recently redesigned high-pressure equipment provided improved cleaning quality for low production in situ rehabilitation programs. Ultra high- pressure water jets are also a potential solution to the problems. Tests and field results of UHP equipment showed increased cleaning efficiency, improved production rates and decreased labor requirements.
