Acceptance criteria for achieving adequate levels of cathodic protection to a well casing is typically based on applying a predetermined amount of current to the well casing, which can be estimated using electrical circuit simulation of the CP circuit models. The simplest electric circuit model to predict the performance of a CP system include the following passive components: • Anode bed resistance-to-remote earth• Well casing resistance-to-remote earth• Flowline resistance-to-remote earth• Other U/G metallic structures (e.g., grounding, tubing, piping, among others)• Back EMF of the well casing, anode bed, flowline, and other U/G metallic structure• Cable resistances• DC Voltage power supply

Corrosion inhibition programs used on drilling rigs in different areas. Field tests evaluations of corrosion control of drill pipe, casing, and steel components in contact with various drilling fluids.
Internal corrosion-monitoring techniques for subsea equipment including production and injection systems (wells, jumpers, manifolds, flowlines, risers, storage systems, pipelines, etc.).
HISTORICAL DOCUMENT. Determining the appropriate assessment method for corrosion threats, as a part of a pipeline integrity process. Specifically intended for buried onshore pipelines constructed from ferrous materials.
HISTORICAL DOCUMENT. Acceptable practices for the design, fabrication, installation, and maintenance of steel-cased metallic pipelines. For use by personnel in the pipeline industry.
HISTORICAL DOCUMENT. Design, installation, operation, and maintenance of deep groundbeds for control of external corrosion of underground or submerged metallic structures by impressed current cathodic protection.
HISTORICAL DOCUMENT. This standard practice formalizes a methodology to assess internal corrosion for onshore and offshore pipelines and other piping systems that normally carry natural gas with condensed water, or with water and liquid hydrocarbons, termed wet gas internal corrosion direct assessment (WG-ICDA). This standard is maintained by Task Group 305.
HISTORICAL DOCUMENT. Procedures to determine the need for cathodic protection. Current requirements for well casings in oil and gas production and gas storage. Design and installation of cathodic protection systems.
NACE external corrosion direct assessment (ECDA) process — assessing and reducing the impact of external corrosion on pipeline integrity.
HISTORICAL DOCUMENT. Cathodic protection to all oil-treating vessels. Includes design criteria, selection, and installation of applicable systems, and the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of installed systems.
