Material requirements for resistance to sulfide stress cracking (SSC) in sour refinery process environments (i.e., environments that contain wet hydrogen sulfide [H2S]). AKA "wet H2S cracking".
CORRECTION OF PUBLICATION:
In January 2016, NACE published an incorrect version of ANSI/NACE MR0103/ISO 17945:2015 (Petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries — Metallic materials resistant to sulfide stress cracking in corrosive petroleum refining environments). That document was incorrectly titled ANSI/NACE MR0103/ISO 17495:2016. The erroneous standard was retracted at the time and the NACE Store has the corrected version. NOTE: The contents of both versions of the standard are identical. The only discrepancies are in the title.
NOTE: We are in the process of back adopting the ISO 15156:2020 edition to become the ANSI/NACE MR0175 standard. We will advise when the new version is available for purchase.
DOWNLOADABLE 2015 EDITION.
Selection and qualification of carbon and low-alloy steels, corrosion-resistant alloys, and other alloys for service in equipment in oil and natural gas production and NG treatment plants in H2S-containing
This is a print-on-demand (POD) book that will be produced just for you in 2-5 days after your order. It should arrive at your door in about one to two weeks. However, due to supply chain and logistic challenges currently affecting the industry, it may take longer. Allow three weeks for international orders.
Over the past decade, the author, Roger Francis, has looked at some very expensive corrosion failures in desalination plants. Avoiding Corrosion in Desalination Plants explains how to avoid existing corrosion problems and how to avoid them in new builds.
This book looks at corrosion problems specific to multistage flash (MSF), multiple-effect distillation (MED), and seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination plants, describing their causes, some solutions, and the relative performance of various materials. It gives advice on procuring materials for desalination plants to avoid quality problems.

The Joint Operation (J.O) Wafra Oilfield is in the west central part of the Kuwait-Saudi Arabia Neutral Zone. The Wafra oilfield produces light and heavy oil and export it to its various customers after processing. Upstream field consists of various Sub Centres where crude, oil and water being separated, and the separated crude transported to the main gathering centre for further processing in two different trains. The produced water being disposed/injected via water disposal & injection facilities after treatment.
In the past, the present and undoubtedly in the future, coating specifications will be written and included in bid packages that will end up on your desk, mine and our fellow colleagues. Often these specifications are poorly written, boiler plated or haphazardly thrown together to hopefully provide us with enough information to successfully win and complete a given contract.
