Corrosion inhibitors for protecthg carbon steel from corrosion in various atmosphere are available in numerous compositions. Many of these formulations mntain chemicals which are considered as “Priority Pollutants” at present by various countries. The new generation of environmental regulations require the replacement of such chemicals with so-called “Green” chemicals. In this paper, the authors will discuss the result of some of the “Green” inhibitors developed by them and provide comment on the direction of future research.
