The USMC CPAC Program provides a holistic approach to corrosion engineering on ground vehicles. This starts with the acquisition of a new system, where CPAC will work with the Program Manager (PM) to develop the contractual requirements for corrosion prevention and aid in the evaluation and verification of an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to meeting those requirements.

In the realm of new construction and maintenance lining projects, e.g., tank and vessel linings and pipelines, “productivity” has become a buzzword with applicators, owners, coating manufacturers and engineering companies. There can be a difficult balancing act to ensure so called “rapid productivity” is delivered and yet provide owners with the best net return on their investment.
Tralopyril was developed as a marine antifouling agent for use in antifouling coatings. The compound has been registered with the US EPA since 2007. Since then, a range of marine coatings have been developed utilizing tralopyril for control of barnacles and other invertebrate animal fouling organisms, frequently, but not exclusively, in combination with a soft fouling control agent.
Virtual paint training systems are a needed and valuable addition to teaching methods. As the accuracy and complexity of simulations improve, the industry has begun to exploit this fusion of simulation and education. This presentation explores the next step - how to use the simulation to increase student engagement, enrich their skills development, and improve the trainees’ knowledge base.
Viscous Elastic Coatings easily overcome many of the common issues that cause traditional coating to fail. Viscous elastic coatings offer immediate adhesion without the need for primer, require minimal surface preparation and form a homologue, continuous, self-healing protective layer.
Coatings are utilized in a wide variety of applications (floor, wall, roof, etc.) and on many different substrates (concrete, steel, drywall, etc) in commercial architectural settings, and performance requirements will obviously vary depending on the intended use and environment.
This paper is a “high temperature” sequel to previous investigations of four specialty inorganic coatings said to prevent corrosion under wet insulation conditions with temperature cycling both in the CUI range of -5°C to 175°C and up to ca 400°C.
