A new type of electrical resistance atmospheric corrosion sensor is described that was tested in-situ with a printed circuit board (PCB). Electrical resistance changes are reported per changes in decreasing electrode thickness that support thickness losses due to corrosion. Micrographs showing the cross sections of the substrate and corrosion products on the PCB and a copper electrode corrometer support the loss in thickness. The test conditions consisted of cycled temperatures between ambient and 50 ° C along with the respective relative humidity between 60 and 100% in a hydrogen sulfide atmosphere. The corrosion sensor reports respective film thickness losses by a visual color display.
